Refused - Live @ Coachella 2012


The Refused reunion tour seems to be coming along nicely. It's nice that they're playing big festival arenas to allow for as many people as possible to see them, but Refused was never meant for arenas and I can't help but find it illfitting.

Refused was always a band meant for smaller stages, playing unpredictable equipment that would break down when no one expected it, only inches away from rabid punk rockers and stage divers. Like here and here.

But while I found the Coachella gig footage underwhelming (you can find it on YouTube), I must say it sounded great. This is clearly a band on fire having a great time. Not having to see the band struggle to fill a huge stage to entertain a few thousand hipsters, and instead just enjoying the sweet sounds coming out of the speakers is a pleasant experience.
