Catch the Dio


I still haven't quite gotten my head around Opeth's Heritage, but their albums usually take a while to fully sink in and I'm in no hurry. If you thought Watershed was weird and experimental and all over the place, that's nothing compared to this. Everything you've heard about Heritage is true.

I know Slither is a Ronnie James Dio tribute and they were probably going for a heavy metal-ish style fast track, but that noodly guitar lead only reminds me of Mastodon's Aqua Dementia. Which is cool.

Favorite song at the moment? Probably Famine. Doomy riffs and flutes ftw.
