You have obviously not spent enough time with the album. Zach Hill is challenging himself in a different way and is coming up gold. When his influence is being seriously felt, in "her confidence" for example. Hill and Stern race for the prize, like watching Usain Bolt race himself. Somehow it sounds good! How much fun is that?
Meh.
It was done better on previous albums.
