Damn, I can't believe I've done thirty-five of these motherfuckers.
This one is probably the softest one yet. Even the obligatory Opeth track (it feels like they've been featured on at least half of these, but they probably haven't) is from their "mellow" album. It gets a little rough with Soulfly, Shora and Will Haven, but the rest is easy listening all the way through, not sure why.
I guess we all need to chill and rest our ears once in a while.

The REAL question:
Which album is better, Automatic Thrill or Basement Apes?
I remember turning my nose up at first when they started with the slicker production, but those guys are my favorite rock band of "our" era.
Sittin on the ROCKTHRONE all alone!!!
The jewel in the Kings Of Rock's crown (as I so eloquently put it fifteen months ago) is Basement Apes: http://metalbastard.blogspot.com/2008/08/gluecifer-ridin-tiger-1997.html
:D
Gluecifer had a knack for writing terrific rock lyrics. I think they deserve a special mention for expert "soul" songs... Bounced Checks, Gimme Solid Gold, Exit at Gate Zero, Round & Round, Shakin' So Bad... just criminally underrated.
If I had a music blog I might collect them for a post (heh) ;-)
I looked real funny in the Montreal subway system yelling "Aw yeah I got the powertools and piss!"
Thanks again for all your work on this blog (and the softer one), we have mostly the same tastes but you find stuff I missed. Mahalo!
