Neue scheisse aus Anaal Nathrakh, Devildriver, Gallows und Behemoth

Hiatus schmiatus.

British noise terrorists Anaal Nathrakh (either the best or worst band name ever) will unleash In The Constellation Of The Black Widow, their 5th full-length, on June 29th.

Gallows' second album Grey Britain came out on May 2nd and has already gotten near universal praise. I've listened to it at least 20 times and while it's definitely a good album, certainly better than their 2006 debut Orchestra Of Wolves, I'm hardly over the moon about it.

My opinion on the matter might very well change, as it tends to do, but at the moment all I'm hearing is a limey version of Doomriders, or perhaps The Bronx.

I've always been a bit torn regarding DevilDriver, mostly because they have the bigger loser and poser in metal behind the mic, the astonishingly pathetic Dez Fafara, formerly of Coal Chamber.

Their 4th album Pray For Villains comes out on July 14th and judging from the title track they have the same problem they've always had: Great musicianship, fine riffs, adequate songs, all ruined by aforementioned douchebag.

But I admit, reluctantly so, that Dez's vocals have improved and he doesn't sound as constipated as he used to. Who knows, by the 10th album he might actually be tolerable.

Polish death/black metal loonies Behemoth will release their 9th album Evangelion on August 7th, and since they haven't released any new material from it (that I know of) and nothing has leaked (that I know of), here's some cool footage of Nergal recording vocals for the album. Apparently his secret is corn flakes. Whodda thunk it?

Thanks for the Anaal Nathrakh track -- I think it's a shit name but their albums have been getting steadily better.
