Yes, I admit I am a Tolkien fiend. A nerd, even. Not to the point where I dress up as a ranger and run around in the woods fighting orcs alongside people dressed as elves, but still pretty nerdy.Tomorrow a 40 minute film entitled The Hunt For Gollum will premier right here. Be there. I know I will.
This non-profit film was made by fans for almost no money at all over the period of two years and centers around a part of the appendices of Lord Of The Rings where Aragorn and Gandalf try to find Gollum to access information about the ring.
Did you see Peter Jackson's movie? You know the part after Bilbo's birthday party when he leaves his home and all his possessions to Frodo? Well, The Hunt For Gollum is set inbetween that scene and the scene where Gandalf returns to tell Frodo about the dangers of the ring.
A great interview with the director Chris Bouchard can be found right here.
Here's the trailer for the film, and I must say for a film that was made for £3,000, it looks absolutely stunning:
In honor of this magnificent feat, here's Frodo Baggins (as played by Ian Holm) singing The Cow Jumped Over The Moon from the BBC radio production of The Fellowship Of The Ring.

Oh. My. God. I never knew that this thing existed. Thanks a billion for pointing this out, I'm a big fan of Tolkien myself. How could you not love a man who invented a history of an imagined land more detailed and interesting than the actual history of several nations? Especially Australia, words cannot describe how boring Australian history is to learn.
Aw don't be so hard on yourself. You're descendents from convicts and dingos, what's not to love? :)
that looks great... can't wait!
So did you watch it? Is it any good?
