No way. I love Faith No More. I am very excited to see what comes out of that. They hinted like they might record some new material. I am for that. They are one of my top 10 all-time artists - next to Napalm Death. And that I like ND and FNM speaks to FNM's diversity of following. That it's been 11 years since they broke up - with lots of personal growth in between should make for something pretty special. I imagine for band members that reunite, it would be like when someone quits smoking. You do it for years when you are young and don't even think about each puff. Then one day you quit smoking. It's unhealthy and you know it. You always miss it, but go 50 years without smoking, and when you are 83 years old, you decide, fuck it. I'm smoking again. The first drag will hurt, but by the third cigarette you bask in the pleasure of each cigarette. Your eyes and senses are open to what you always enjoyed but never fully appreciated - and now you have it in your hands once more. The same will be true for FNM. Getting back that feeling for guys in their 40s could be priceless and the output that flows from it could be monstrous.
That said, I'm excited. I hope to see them again (Summer '92 Metallica/GNR stadium tour). And I plan on becoming a full-time smoker when I'm 83. Love your blog.
I agree in this case, since Patton is one of those artists who has remained fresh and done challenging work. New work with FNM could be amazing.
Strangely enough, I've never heard Absolute Zero. What an amazing song! Thanks again for posting these.
