The new Mastodon album, sans the 13 minute final track The Last Baron, leaked today. Still, six out of seven tracks is pretty damn good. I'm especially impressed with Troy's vocals, just listen to Oblivion, the first track. I had no idea the man had such pipes.
Oh my god this album pwns so hard... oh so hard. Mastodon solidifies their position as one of the best bands in the known universe.
All in all, it's trippier than ever just as promised. This is Rush, King Crimson, Pink Floyd all rolled into one, filtered through the fucked up metal minds of Mastodon.
This is the best album of 2009. I told you so months ago, nigga. I told you so months ago.
I had some technical troubles uploading these mp3s, FileDen kept cutting me off so the whole files didn't seem to get uploaded. I'm not sure if the full songs are there but if they're not, just download the full zip which is hosted on a separate and more reliable Snapdrive account.
UPDATE FEB. 21: Yep, it's as I feared, FileDen keeps fucking with me. I've received several comments and emails about the individual mp3 files not working, but I've tried the zip file and it works. So go with that one, it's at the bottom.

All the files in the low res zip are fake. They seem to be all comprised of that dumb ass rick roll song.
The individual ones are fine, but most of the time the DL link doesn't work.
Just to let you know the zip you've provided is just full of the "never gonna give you up" song by rick astley. None of the songs provided in the zip file are real.

I'm going to wait for the CD I've pre-ordered. The quality of mp3 or any compressed audio format is so wank it will not do the music justice.
I hope all you people that have downloaded it are going to actually buy the album on CD or Vinyl and not from bullshit iTunes. Listen to it on a proper system, show the band respect for their time and effort and reward them financially.
If I listen to any crud quality compressed version on pissy speakers or headphones then my integrity will stab me to death.
