Candywheel - "Eel-O-Rama Drive-In" (1996)

Another band I don't know much about.

No one else seems to know anything either, a google seach for this album resulted in a whopping five hits, two of which were for online auctions from people so desperate to get rid of the album they were practically giving it away for free.

Finding a pic of the album cover was a dead end, so you're stuck with Wille Crafoord and his Ziggy Stardust-mullet. Better than nothing.

I can tell you this much: They were a quintet from Gothenburg with a singer vaguely reminiscent of Patti Smith and occasionally P.J. Harvey. They released some EPs in 1995 and this album the following year.

Both musically and in terms of quality the album is all over the place, with some songs being kinda heavy, others pretty acoustic numbers, and some downright silly and pointless (Carrot Song, anyone?).

I'd say these three picks are the heaviest and darn good, even if Marie Wefring's voice is an acquired taste for sure.
